Optimizing

Keyword research

Discover and score keywords for the App Store and Google Play using Difficulty, Traffic, Opportunity, and Apple Search Ads popularity.

Keyword research is where you decide which search terms to target. AppSqeez researches keywords for both the App Store and Google Play and scores each one so you can prioritize.

Open Keyword research, enter a seed term, then choose the store and country. Add promising results to your app’s tracked keywords. You can also add keywords manually on the Keywords screen. AppSqeez does not charge credits per keyword.

How scoring works

For every researched keyword, AppSqeez calculates:

  • Difficulty (0–100) — how hard it is to rank, based on the strength of apps already ranking for the term.
  • Traffic (0–100) — how often the term is searched.
  • Opportunity (0–100) — a blend that surfaces keywords with good traffic but manageable difficulty.
  • Apple Search Ads popularity (App Store only) — a real 0–100 popularity score per storefront.

Tip: Sort by Opportunity to find the easiest wins first.

Discovering keywords

On your app’s Keywords screen, open Keyword Suggestions and choose one of five extraction methods:

  1. Basic Extractor — backend-matched keyword extraction.
  2. YAKE Extractor — statistical keyword extraction.
  3. Store Suggestions — live suggestions from the store’s search box.
  4. Search by others — crowd-sourced keywords other AppSqeez users found for the same app.
  5. AI Suggestions — generated by your configured AI provider.

Filtering and sorting

You can filter by store, country, and score ranges (difficulty, traffic, popularity, opportunity), and sort by any column. Add promising keywords directly to rank tracking for the app you’re optimizing.

Free vs Premium

On the free plan you can research up to 5 keywords. Premium removes that limit. There is no separate keyword unlock or per-keyword credit charge.
