Getting started

Download & install

How to install and update AppSqeez on Windows, macOS (notarized DMG), and Linux (.deb and .rpm) from GitHub Releases.

AppSqeez is a native desktop app available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Windows

  1. Open the latest AppSqeez release on GitHub and expand Assets.
  2. When the signed Windows installers are published, choose the .exe for a guided installation or the .msi for managed deployment. You only need one format.
  3. Run the downloaded installer and follow its prompts. Verify the file’s digital signature in Windows before you continue.

For later versions, download the new installer from GitHub Releases and run it over your current installation. If Windows SmartScreen displays a warning, confirm the file came from the official release page and check its signature before continuing.

macOS

  1. Download the .dmg file from the latest release.
  2. Open the disk image and drag AppSqeez into Applications.
  3. The first time you open it, if macOS warns the app isn’t signed, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and allow it.

AppSqeez ships as a notarized DMG.

Linux

Download the .deb (Debian/Ubuntu) or .rpm (Fedora) package from the latest release.

Install a .deb:

sudo apt install ./appsqeez-*.deb

Install an .rpm:

sudo dnf install ./appsqeez-*.rpm

Updates

AppSqeez checks for new versions on startup. When an update is available you’ll see a desktop notification, an in-app toast, and an entry in the Notifications screen. Updates aren’t installed automatically — download the new installer and run it to update.
