Getting started
Getting started with AppSqeez
Install AppSqeez, create your first app workspace, and run your first keyword research in minutes.
Welcome to AppSqeez — the all-in-one App Store Optimization desktop app for the Apple App Store and Google Play. This guide gets you from install to your first keyword research in a few minutes.
1. Install AppSqeez
AppSqeez runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Download the desktop app, then follow the installation guide for your operating system. You can start with the free plan without creating an account. A license key is only needed to activate Premium.
2. Create your first app
When you open AppSqeez, the dashboard is empty. Add an app in one of two ways:
- Import from store — search for a published app by name, or paste an App Store or Google Play URL. AppSqeez fetches the live metadata, icon, and screenshots.
- Create a draft app — for an app you haven’t launched yet, enter a name, default country, target store, and device types. You can work on screenshots and listings before launch, then link the real store listing later.
3. Add your keywords
Open the Keywords screen for your app and add the keywords you want to rank for. You can type them manually, or use Keyword Suggestions to find new ones.
4. Research new keywords
Switch to Keyword research, type a seed keyword, pick a store and country, and let AppSqeez score candidates on Difficulty, Traffic, and Opportunity. Add the winners straight to tracking.
5. Check your rankings
Open the Keywords screen to refresh rankings and see your current position, rank delta, and trend for each keyword. Premium also lets you schedule background refreshes while the app is running.
That’s the core loop: research → place → track → refine. The rest of this documentation dives into each part in detail.

Optional: activate Premium
If you have a license key, open Settings → License, paste the key, and activate it. The free plan remains available without a license. See Premium & licensing for the limits and subscription details.
